Landscape East

Landscape East brings together landscape, biodiversity, geodiversity, historic environment and spatial planning interests together under a single banner to steer the development of the East of England Landscape Framework and to identify and disseminate good practice in all aspects of landscape protection, management and planning.

The forum has been in existence since spring 2004, originating as a county council officer networking group. Its membership and role has since expanded to meet developing needs. Landscape East now draws it membership from local authorities, government agencies, statutory, non-statutory and other organisations and the private sector who work within the field of landscape.

Over the recent years Landscape East has commissioned studies and engaged very actively with regional processes. The prime focus has been on the development of the East of England Landscape Framework, while championing an integrated, cross-disciplinary approach to environmental management and contributing to the preparation and subsequent review of the Regional Spatial Strategy.
